Autumn 2025 - Live music continues to be exciting and fun in and around Edinburgh.
There are lots of fine sessions and musical events in the City of Edinburgh, and further afield, to attend and enjoy.
And fun ceilidh dances with The Occasionals too - all new dates are listed here below.
There are regular traditional music & song sessions in Edinburgh in local bar venues - Sandy Bells, The Black Cat, Captain’s Bar, The Royal Oak and, in particular, The Waverley Bar, on Sunday afternoons, (3pm to 6pm) where I can often be found playing music with fiddle maestro John Martin, top Scots singer George Duff, ace piper Mike Katz and others.

THE OCCASIONALS HOGMANAY CEILIDH 2025

"We are delighted that The Occasionals are to play for the Hogmanay Ceilidh in Edinburgh again this year and hope you will be able to join us.
Dancing will be from around 8:30pm until 12:30 at St Peter’s Church Hall, Lutton Place, Newington, Edinburgh, EH8 9PE.
Entry is by pre-paid list; doors will be open by 8pm. As usual, there will be some soft drinks and nibbles provided with the option to BYOB. Please avoid bringing anything with peanuts as one regular has a severe allergy.

The ticket price remains at £30 if paid in advance by 1st December 2025.
